The President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, HE Dr Hilda C. Heine, will convene the first conference of the Pacific Women Leaders’ Coalition Conference (PWLC) and is encouraging women leaders from various fields to participate in the conference to raise the profile and build wider support for women’s issues regionally and locally.

This conference is expected to include women heads of states and governments, senior policymakers, Members of Parliament and legislatures, regional organisations, academia, the private sector, civil society organisations, traditional leaders, communities and non-governmental organisations.

Three key outcomes the conference aims for are:

  1. The establishment of Pacific Women Leaders’ Coalition (PWLC) interim leadership;
  2. To elaborate the purpose, focus and direction of the PWLC; and
  3. To discuss and consider options to support the work of the PWLC.

The conference, to be convened in the Marshall Islands, will engage Pacific women leaders in a combination of live and virtual interactions including presentations, panel Q&A sessions and an open forum for questions, enabling interested women from anywhere in the Pacific to asking questions of Pacific women leaders in attendance.
